We're one week in 2008 and I've not neglected my resolutions. Woo Hoo! One week down, 51 to go. I didn't make any grandiose or particularly life changing resolutions this year. Just changes I think that will enhance me professionally as well as personally.
I will take at least one full week of vacation in 2008 without my blackberry, lappy, or newspapers
I've never been good about taking time off. In 2007 I did go on a trip with friends, but I spent half of it with the blackberry and the laptop keeping tabs on work back home. This year I will attempt the impossible; to unplug.
I will bench press 300 lbs by July 15, 2008
I've always been good about working out. It's my great escape. I go in the gym, crank up the iPod, and I'm free from the phone, e-mail, and being a grown up. This year I will focus my efforts to specifics ends, not just use them as an escape.
I will spend more time working out of my home office
After spending a small fortune on the home office, I might as well use it. Also, I find I'm more productive doing the things I need to do when I work from home. I will resolve to just take a deep breath, step back, and give my general manager the trust he's earned, and let him worry about the day to day operations. [this is going to be the hardest for me]
I will not neglect my blog for months at a time
It's an election year, this should be pretty easy.
I will reconnect with college friends before the 10 year anniversary of my graduation in May 2008
I can't believe that much time has past. I can't be that old, can I? It's amazing how much has changed in just a few short years. I will make time to reconnect with friends that I've lost touch with since leaving college.
